October 2022 local Dearborn houses of worship held a community wide fundraiser for the food pantries at UofM Dearborn and Henry Ford College. Guided by a list of needed and desired food and paper goods, Christian and Muslim houses of worship collected items for these pantries for the month of October. The event was called “Stocktober” with the focus on stocking these pantries. The next Stocktober will take place in the fall of 2023. Organized by the Ben Adams, chaplain to UofM Dearborn and Henry Ford College, Adams is supported by the ELCA synod in NE Michigan and Episcopal Diocese of Michigan.
